Let the Games Begin

07 Jun 2016

Reading time ~1 minute

Unlike yesterday’s post which was done a day after it was supposed to, today’s post is duly posted on the day that it purports to be describing. Yesterday was certainly all fun and games in comparison to today. That is, this morning I met with my charismatic and highly over-qualified adviser, Eli, to go over the tremendous responsibilities that I have to bear for the next 10 weeks. Said responsibilities really boil down to just 3 things: 1. updating this here blog 2. creating a Rails app that mimics the look and feel of Hacker News 3. and, of course, eventually working on a marvelous group project with the other Rails interns, as soon as our collective chops are so tender that they fall off the bone. Thereafter, Michael, my partner in crime here at Viget Boulder, and I were oriented to Viget standard protocolly things as well as its finances. On my spare time, I was able to tweak this blog site to a bare minimum quality and initialize and deploy the skeleton of what will hopefully come to be a finished “Hacker News”-like blog site (I had the most trouble with configuring the right gemfile versions to get the site going properly - mostly a fault of conflicting tutorials online. Thanks for reading as always, and wish me luck!
